How To Brew

A proper cup, every time

Water temperature and steep time make the difference between a flat cup and a great one. Here's how we brew every Do Ghazal and Alghazaleen tea, in loose leaf or tea bags.

Two Ways To Brew

Loose leaf or tea bag?

Loose leaf

Use one heaped teaspoon of loose leaf per 8 oz cup. Gives you full control over strength, and the leaf can take a second, lighter steep.

Tea bag

Use one tea bag per 8 oz cup — no infuser needed. Pre-portioned for a fast, consistent cup every time.

By Flavor

Every tea brews a little differently

Black Tea

Black Tea

Water95-100°C / 200-212°F, full boilSteep3-5 minutes

Steep shorter for a brisk cup, longer for bold. Strain (or lift the bag) and serve.

Earl Grey

Earl Grey

Water95-100°C / 200-212°F, full boilSteep3-4 minutes

Bergamot is brightest around 3-4 minutes. Good plain, with milk, or a slice of lemon.

Cardamom

Cardamom

Water95-100°C / 200-212°F, full boilSteep3-5 minutes

Enjoy plain, with sugar, or with a splash of milk — cardamom carries all three well.

Green Tea

Green Tea

Water80-85°C / 175-185°F — let boiled water cool firstSteep2-3 minutes

Water that's too hot turns green tea bitter. Keep it short and cooler for a smooth, sweet cup.
